I write with great news following our recent bag pack fundraising event. Over Thursday 30th and Friday 31st December, we collected over £2,800 from the generous shoppers in Otley's Sainsbury's store! This is a phenomenal achievement and event beats last year's total of £2,767 - an amount we
thought would be impossible to match as this was raised on the pre-Christmas weekend, usually the busiest weekend of Sainsbury's year.
Both myself and the rest of the leaders would like to thank all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, parents, families and friends who came along to support us over the weekend. We're extremely grateful to the 12 Beavers, 18 Cubs, 10 Scouts and in excess of 30 parents who turned up with such enthusiasm to assist with our fund raising effort. It was the first time the Beavers had joined this fund raising event and we were grateful to have their help, with their 'cuteness' being noted by the unsuspecting shoppers who parted with money upon arrival at the store when greeted by a Beaver and leader/parent and then again when the Cubs and Scouts did such a good job of packing their bags at the tills!
I'd also like to thank the Cubs and Scouts for their efforts with a number helping in shifts totalling over 6 hours during both days.
