What's the first thing you do when the England Match finishes on TV?

2ndotleyvisitorsVisit this website of course!

Within minutes of the England v Ukraine match finishing, the number of visitors to this site had rocketed from 2 to 36.

It's a wonder the internet doesn't buckle under the strain!

I bet there was steam coming out of the Otley Telephone Exchange.

**EDIT** After seeing 98 guests on the site on Thursday, I got suspicious and investigated further. It turns out that a lot of 'Bots' access the site (for search engine info) and that the system that counts users is flawed and often counts visitors several times Frown

Phew! Thought for one moment that Donal's popularity with Ruthie and the public at large might have caused a shock result.

Mind, it's probably not best for the show to have such a clear winner from Week 1.

Off to Sheffield soon to see them in the flesh.

Thinking that a 'small ads' section could be useful. Not so much things for sale, but unwanted items such as scout clothing to go to a good home. A bit like Freecycle but aimed mainly at the Scout Group...

It's great to hear that the planning application has been approved .

Thanks go to Trevor, Richard and everybody involved in the process.

Now the fundraising begins..!

Added a poll to the site a few days ago. So far nobody (but me, twice) has voted...

The poll is to see whether people thought it would be a good idea for Trevor to keep a 'blog'. I thought it could be extended to enable (under supervision!) cubs/scouts to add blog entries while on camps.

On Saturday (14th March) we had an all time record of 17 (including me) visitors to the site at the same time.!

The web site is fairly stable now. The site structure hasn't changed much for a while, and all it needs is to be 'filled out' with content.

I need to tidy up the existing content so that it is correctly 'categorised' into the right 'sections'. This will make future development and housekeeping more straightforward. Ultimately it will provide a robust framework that will allow authorised users to add, edit and delete content.
